Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) Family Day was successfully held on 21-22 September 2023 (Friday-Saturday) at UMK Jeli Campus. This 2-day program has involved more than 1700 staff and families. With the theme "The UMK Family Strong Together", the UMK Family Day in 2023 took place very lively after the last time it was organized in 2015 at UMK Bachok.
The approach of organizing UMK's Family Day this year is implemented by dividing according to the contingent. The Bachok UMK contingent with the theme color blue is led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), the Kota Campus UMK contingent with the orange theme color is led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) and the Jeli Campus UMK contingent with the red theme color is led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation).
The objective of organizing the UMK Family Day is to create interaction and camaraderie between the University Management and all UMK staff in each campus in a harmonious atmosphere, in addition to fostering camaraderie, cooperation and mutual understanding with each other in the activities and games provided.
Among the activities provided are children's sports events, staff sports and sports, staff talent nights and choir competitions among contingents. There will also be a lucky draw event with prizes worth more than RM10,000.00.
UMK Family Day 2023 was inaugurated by YBhg. Prof. Dato' Dr. Razli bin Che Razak, Vice Chancellor of UMK and the Closing Inauguration Ceremony by YBhg. Dato' Dr. Hassan Basri bin Awang Mat Dahan, Chairman of the University Board of Directors.
The Staff Talent Night performance was also enlivened with the presence of four UMK Board Members, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Aweng A/L Eh Rak, Member of LPU, YBhg. Datuk Haji Zaluzi bin Sulaiman, LPU Member, YBhg. Dato' Hj. Mohd Adhan bin Kechik, LPU Member and YBrs. Mr. Muhammad Danial Khaleq bin Mohd Ali, LPU Member.
UMK Registrar, YBrs. Encik Khairul Eruwan bin Abdul Halim who is also the Chairman of the UMK Family Day Program 2023 said, "The success of the organization of the UMK Family Day 2023 is the result of the support and cooperation of the university's top management, the head of PTJ and the leadership of unions and associations at UMK".
The organization of this program is expected to increase the 'happiness index' of campus residents and strengthen the relationship between the excellent UMK families.
